19. Your Thoughts Aren’t Creating Your Reality Because You Are Missing This Important Step
Whatever you heard about your thought creating your reality, I want you to erase that from your mind.
Yes, you read that right, erase the idea that your thoughts create your reality because unfortunately for many, maybe including you, they heard that statement and ran with it only to be left confused a to why what you desire hasn’t come steamrolling in when all you do everyday is think about your dream reality.
A strange thing happens when you stop manifesting from your mind and start manifesting from your heart.
The manifestations don’t just arrive, they rush in. It’s as though they’ve been waiting for you to finally feel your way into alignment.
We hear so much about positive thinking, mindset work, and rewiring the brain, and don’t get me wrong, that’s part of the game.
But the deeper truth lies in something far more heartfelt.
In this article, I’m sharing why using your thoughts to create your reality is keeping you stuck, as well as revealing the important step you are missing that will catapult your dreams.
How Emotional Alignment Supercharges Your Manifestations
The true architect of your dream reality is fuelled through emotion. Not logic, not Pinterest boards, not what you typed up on your Notes app.
Pure emotion.
It’s the embodiment of what you desire so fully that reality has no choice but to bend to your feeling. And of course I can’t help but get a little bit scientific about it, but catch this…
*The human heart emits an electromagnetic field that is 60 times more powerful than the brain.
Sixty.
Times.
More.
That means what you feel holds more manifestation weight than what you think. And if your thoughts aren’t emotionally backed? They’re just mental noise.
This is why I could never get on board with the idea of robotic affirmations. It doesn’t matter how many times you say it, if you don’t feel it, nothing moves!
For years, I had been trying to think my way into my dream life, strategising, planning, scripting, over-analysing, but my emotional state wasn't in agreement with what I wanted.
I was affirming abundance while feeling anxious about money. I was visualising a life I wanted, but not feeling confident that it was something I could attain.
And because the heart’s magnetism outweighs the brain’s, my reality was simply reflecting the emotional broadcast I was actually sending out. Not the one I was thinking about.
When your emotions and your desires are misaligned, manifestation feels like your hitting the accelerator and the brake at the same time.
But when your emotions match your desires, when you feel them as already true, manifestation becomes inevitable. Reality has to recalibrate to the signal you’re sending.
The Ancient Wisdom We’ve Forgotten
And none of this is new. In fact, long before modern-day self-help books or ultra aesthetically pleasing content accounts (mine lol!), civilisation new and taught thee principles. They knew emotion was sacred.
They knew emotion was the spell.
In Ancient Egypt, emotions were believed to be a divine language, messages from the gods that, when honoured, could shift your external world.
In Hermetic philosophy (which I’ve recently been folding into my personal practice), the Principle of Vibration teaches that everything in the universe moves, and emotion is a key vibrational driver.
In Indigenous traditions, the heart is often seen as the centre of intuition, intention, and creation. You manifest not by controlling life, but by becoming coherent with it. And coherence is emotional.
So when you emotionally align, when you allow yourself to feel the joy, content, the fun, the freedom now, you match the frequency of the life you’re manifesting.
You become a living magnet.
How to Evoke Emotionally Charged Thoughts (Even If You're Not Feeling It)
Let’s get practical. Because emotional alignment doesn’t mean faking high vibes or pretending you’re happy when you’re not. That’s spiritual bypassing. What I’ve learned is this:
You don’t need to feel good 24/7. You just need to get emotionally intimate with the version of you who already has what you want.
Here’s how I do it, especially on days when I’m but I still want to stay energetically clear:
Use music as a memory of the future
I build playlists that sound like my dream life. Not just aesthetically, but emotionally. Think: rooftop Paris mornings, vintage film romance, power-walks through the city in your Chanel sneakers. Music collapses time.
Tip: Play your playlist while journaling and write from your future self. She’s already there.Romanticise the present moment
You don’t need the penthouse to feel luxurious. I’ve made coffee at 6:30 AM in my robe feels like a scene from a film. I light incense. I write as though I’m already her. That simple act tunes my emotional frequency up to match my manifestations.Practice “Emotional Anchoring”
Attach feelings to certain actions or spaces. When I spray my favourite perfume, it’s not just a scent it’s a signal to my nervous system that I am powerful, magnetic, and already living the dream.Your brain begins to associate that act with the feeling. That’s neurological magic.
You Don't Get What You Want, You Get What You Feel
We’ve heard it so many times it almost sounds cliché. But the cliché is true because it’s real. You don’t get what you want, you get who you are, and who you are comes down to how you feel.
When you learn how to feel the reality before it arrives, you collapse time. You collapse doubt. You collapse resistance.
Lead from emotion, then let your life catch up to the frequency you’ve already decided to live on.
Because trust me, the best version of yourself is already waiting for you there.

These questions are designed to help you get radically honest about the emotional signals you're sending out, and shift into the magnetic energy that pulls your desires toward you.
What emotion do I most frequently embody and is it in alignment with the life I say I want?
(If not, what emotional baseline would my dream life require me to live in?)When I think about my biggest desires, what feelings rise up first - fear, excitement, doubt, power, unworthiness?
(And how can I begin to shift those feelings in small, consistent ways?)If my heart is 60x more magnetic than my mind, what energy am I broadcasting to the universe right now?
What songs, scents, memories, or environments instantly elevate my emotional state and make me feel ‘in it’ — like it’s already happening?
(How can I use these tools more intentionally?)Do I let myself feel the feeling of having what I want, or do I emotionally stay in the gap of not having it yet?
(And how can I romanticise my current life so that it already feels abundant?)What would my life look like if I let emotional alignment, not strategy or control, lead the way?
