How To Create a Simple 3-Step Self-Love Morning Routine
If you're someone who's constantly running on a tight schedule, finding time for self-love and self-care at the beginning of your day can be challenging. But, how you feel in the morning can set the tone for the entire day. It's important to prioritise self-love and create a morning routine that helps you feel good in order to start your day on the right foot.
Here are three easy steps to get you started:
Step 1: Wake up with gratitude
The first step to a successful day is to wake up with gratitude.
Before you reach for your phone, take a moment to think about all the things you are grateful for in your life.
It could be anything from being thankful for the roof over your head that keeps you safe, food in your fridge for breakfast, a job to earn you money, another day to be with your children, or being given another chance to have a go at this thing called life. By focusing on what you are thankful for, you immediately set a positive tone for the rest of your day.
Practicing gratitude can help you shift your mindset from negative to positive, and studies have shown that people who practice gratitude regularly experience greater levels of happiness and well-being. So, start your day by saying "thank you" and see how it can change your outlook on life.
Step 2: Move your body
Find a way each morning to move your body, even if your goals aren’t to lose weight, exercise is a great way to boost your mood and improve your overall physical health. Moving your body in the morning can also help you feel more alert and focused throughout the day. It's a great way to wake up your mind and body and prepare yourself for the day ahead. Try a quick 10-minute home workout which can make a big difference in how you feel. Try some simple stretches, yoga poses, or a quick cardio routine to get your blood flowing and your energy up.
So, even if you're not a morning person, try to incorporate some form of movement into your morning routine and start to see how something so small can change your day.
Step 3: Do something nice for yourself
Finally, make sure to do something nice for yourself in the morning. My moment for me is making my self-love smoothie because it puts me in a good mood, I enjoy making it more than drinking it and it only takes a few minutes.
Choose something that brings you joy.
It might be reading a few pages of a book on the train to work, buying a cup of coffee and a slice of cake from a cute coffee shop, or misting yourself in your favourite perfume (yes, even in the week for work). Whatever it is, make sure it allows you to feel good in that moment.
Taking time for yourself in the morning can help you feel more centred and relaxed, and set a positive tone for the rest of your day. It's important to prioritise self-care and self-love, especially in a world where we're constantly on the go. So, make sure to carve out some time for yourself in the morning and see how it can change your day.
