A Mini Guide to Redesign Your DREAM LIFE
How many times have you tried to answer that daunting question…
“Where do you see yourself in five years?”
or “What are your long-term goals”
Only to have a wash of anxiety come over you as you realise you have no idea where your life is heading.
Sound familiar? It did to me.
And I knew shrugging the answer away in irritation was doing a disservice to the woman I dreamed of becoming.
That‘s why I decided to make it easier for myself by redesigning my dream life and creating a vision to make it clear what I wanted out of life.
Here’s the thing, most people want a different life, but ask them what exactly they want and their mind goes blank.
Grab a notebook and pen because in this mini guide, I’ll be sharing the exact journal prompts I used across the big four - financial, career, relationships, and health to create a life vision, one rooted in authenticity and intention.
A Vision for Finances
As much as no one wants to admit it, money is often at the centre when talking about designing a dream life because for many dreams to manifest, there needs to be financial security.
But I’ve found it’s less about than how many pound signs (or perhaps dollars in your case) show up in your bank account and more about what that money can provide and support.
No one wants more money just to have more money. It’s not something we simply want to stare at, we want it to use it.
It’s a tool we want to use to buy a home, or a new car, to travel the world, preferably in first class, to improve our health and fitness, to dress up, to dine out, and to make life feel like more than the basics.
Before you decide how much you want, get clear on what you want it for.
I’ve found that thinking deeply about what “financial freedom” truly means to me and what it can offer like security, choice, and peace of mind—has transformed the way I approach money.
Here are some prompts that can help you clarify what financial freedom means for you.
What would financial freedom look like in your ideal life?
Visualise your ideal relationship with money—are you free of debt, investing, saving, or maybe able to give generously?
What’s the “why” behind your financial goals?
Why do you want this amount? Think about whether your goals are rooted in security, the ability to experience new things, or providing for loved ones, future goals.
How would you like to feel about money?
Consider shifting your mindset around finances. How do you wish to feel when you think about money. Empowered? In control? Or at ease with your financial habits?
What small financial habits would help you move closer to this vision?
This could mean budgeting monthly, setting up automated savings, or investing in personal growth
A Vision for Career
Being able to work in your dream career isn’t always about how much money it brings, more often than not it’s the freedom that comes with it.
It’s waking up on Monday morning but it feels like a Friday, it’s being excited about the word ‘work’ means to you.
A chosen career enriches your sense of purpose and aligns with your passions and skills.
Between my role as a fashion stylist, Kitaka, and now Coffee Moon I have felt like I'm living out my purpose, and it has truly elevated my sense of self.
Use the prompts below to get clear with your career goals in a way that fuels your passions and vision of its future.
What would your dream career look like if you had no limits?
Think about roles, industries, or business ideas that light you up and fulfil your passions.
What are your core strengths, and how can they serve your career vision?
Identify the skills or qualities that set you apart and consider how these can shape or advance your career.
What kind of environment do you want to work in?
Do you work in a workspace, remote flexibility, or surrounded by like-minded team of people?
What values or purpose do you want your career to align with?
How you want your work to impact the world and align with your personal mission.
What skills would you love to master?
This could be public speaking, digital marketing, sales, or entrepreneurship—it should be something that excites you and adds value to your path.
“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humour, and some style.”
A Vision for Relationships
Whether it’s friendships, family, or a romantic partner, defining how you want these relationships to feel is essential. I found by becoming clearer on this vision of relationships allowed me to build more meaningful connections with people who were aligned with my values.
Here are some of the questions I had to ask myself:
How do you want to feel in your closest relationships?
You may want to feel heard, understood, valued, and respected.
What are the qualities of the people you want in your life?
Think about traits which are important to you such as loyalty, kindness, or ambition and how these qualities enhance your life.
How much time and energy do you want to invest in relationships?
This can vary— how you want to balance quality time with friends, family, and your partner while respecting your boundaries at the same.
A Vision for Health
Without it good health, physically and mentally, it becomes difficult to pursue your dreams, enjoy relationships, or appreciate financial abundance.
I’ve learned that focusing on health and wellness is an everyday necessity and something I now prioritise as part of my own glow-up routine.
Use these prompts designed to help you define what a healthy, balanced life looks like for you.
What does a healthy lifestyle look and feel like to you?
Picture a lifestyle that’s not only active but brings joy—like morning routines, nutritious meals, and ample rest.
How do you feel about your current relationship with food and exercise?
Do you feel balanced and energised or is there an area that could benefit from gentle improvement.
How can you support your mental health in daily routines?
Try small practices like breathwork, meditation, or reducing screen time to regulate your nervous system to feel more grounded and present.
What does self-care mean to you, and how can you apply it into your life?
Think as weekly rituals, skincare, or even solo dates to build the relationship you have with yourself.
What health goals, big or small, feel aligned with your ideal life vision?
These might include a daily walk, cooking nutritious meals, or taking up a new hobby such as Yoga classes.
Finally…
Having a clear vision for your life is only the first step. Regularly revisit and refine it to keep your dreams and goals fresh. Life changes, and so might your vision, but by holding onto these foundational elements, you allow yourself to evolve in alignment with what truly matters
