How To Reprogram Your Subconscious Mind for a Successful Year
“About 95 percent of who we are by midlife1 is a series of subconscious programs that have become automatic”
When I read the above quote in Dr. Joe Dispenza’s book, Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself, I knew I needed to pull my sh*t together, fast!
No matter how much I wanted to ignore the fact that I was at the age where the thoughts that fired together were wired together on a more permanent basis, it meant that if I wanted to experience a change in my life, I needed to act right now.
No more excuses.
No more “I’ll do it on Friday” or “I still have loads of time”
The time was now or never.
Once I realised not only was the human mind a powerful tool, the most profound part of my mind was beneath the surface and if I knew how to use it to my advantage, I could increase my chances of success in every area of my life in a year or less!
Learning how to tap into my subconscious and basically change my mind has by far been the most profound realisation of my entire glow-up journey.
This practice became crucial when building my confidence in building Coffee Moon not just for professional success but also for achieving personal skills.
In this blog, I’m going to share the various ways of how I reprogram my subconscious mind for a successful year.
Sleep Affirmations
Evening routines aren’t just ideal for skincare, peppermint tea, and a scroll on TikTok.
It’s the optimal time to reprogram the thoughts which lay in your subconscious mind.
If you want to know more about your subconscious mind and how to get the best from it, I teach an entire module with the Ultimate Glow Up Course here.
But for now, let’s look at why it’s so effective through sleep affirmations.
When the evening comes around your brainwaves slow down, your conscious mind starts to rest, and your subconscious mind comes alive making it more receptive to influence and ideas.
Listening to affirmations while you sleep is like whispering positive suggestions to your deeper mind, bypassing the critical filter ( your conscious mind) that often blocks new ideas during the day.
This has become a solid step in my evening routine as every night I enter The Vault, select a sleep tape and let the recording play all night as I sleep.
I incorporated sleep affirmations just over a year ago when I felt stuck in certain areas of my life. I created my own playlist on YouTube of sleep affirmations created by the most amazing creators and let the playlist run for the entire night while my subconscious mind drank these new, healthier, positive thoughts.
Gradually, I noticed shifts, not just in my mindset, but in the opportunities that began to align with the version of myself I dreamt of being.
Here are some ways you can get started:
Write down new affirmations: Make sure your affirmations are aligned with your deepest desires. These should be in the present tense, such as "I am confident and successful in everything I do."
Record or create a playlist of your affirmations: Use your own voice for a stronger connection. Or if like me you don’t mind hearing someone else’s voice you can create your own playlist on Spotify or Youtube. Then play on a loop throughout the night.
Listen on repeat during sleep: Play your affirmations on a low volume to allow your subconscious to absorb them throughout the night. Wearing headphones will optimise this practice
Binaural Beats
Quite similar to sleep affirmations, binaural beats are a great way to work with your brainwaves for specific reasons.
What are Binaural Beats?
Binaural beats are sound frequencies that stimulate specific brainwave patterns, helping to bring the mind into a state ideal for reprogramming.
For me, adding binaural beats to my routine was a game changer and almost felt like like a form of medicine for the brain, especially at night when my mind has a tendency to race with thoughts from earlier that day.
But not only is listening to binaural beats beneficial at night, but I also listen to them to focus when I’m writing, on stimulating serotonin (the happy hormone) and of course before bed to relax.
You can find my playlist of binaural beats in The Vault of the Ultimate Glow-Up Program, or if you would like to experiment with various frequencies
Here’s how you can incorporate binaural beats to reprogram your subconscious mind:
Choose the right frequency: For reprogramming, theta waves (4-8 Hz) are ideal, as they help access the subconscious mind.
Create a routine: Use binaural beats during meditation, visualisation, or while working for an added increase in concentration.
Consistency matters: Incorporate this into your daily or nightly routine to see long-term positive changes.
*Outcome Visualisation
As I can imagine, you’re no stranger to the idea of outcome visualisation, but in case this is a new concept to you, allow me to explain…
Outcome visualisation is the practice of mentally rehearsing the outcomes you desire. When done consistently, you train your brain to accept these desires as achievable, making them more likely to manifest in reality.
For example, you visualise yourself driving the new Porsche, you can feel the leather of the seats, the curve of the wheel, the smell of the car, and the wind whipping through the windows.
This is visualisation.
However, in this practice lies what is known as
Process Visualisation
For example, when I visualise, I don’t just focus on the finished result but on the journey itself.
I visualise how I’ll feel, the steps I’ll take, and the emotions of gratitude and accomplishment along the way.
Doing this has helped me navigate the ups and downs of building my business and staying focused on my long-term vision.
Here’s how you can practice outcome visualisation:
Set aside time each day: Even five minutes in the morning can make a difference. You can also use guided visualisation meditations which make it easier, I’ve added one of my favourites to the end of this article.
Engage all senses: Don’t limit yourself to just your mind. Use your senses to elevate your imagination. What does success feel like, how does it sound, and even what it smells like?
Visualise the process, not just the result: See yourself taking action, overcoming challenges, and celebrating wins along the way.
SATS by Neville Goddard
Neville Goddard, one of the best teachers in the self-development space pioneered the concept of what we as his students know as SATS
An abbreviation of the term State Akin To Sleep, SATS is a technique that involves consciously entering a deeply relaxed, drowsy state just before sleep and visualising the desired outcome as though it’s already achieved.
“To assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled and continue in that assumption until it is hardened into fact — that is, the way to success.”
This powerful manifesting technique allows your subconscious mind to fully accept your visualised desire as reality.
Admittedly, I was doing this all along, I just didn’t know it had an official term. As I would feel drowsy I would feel my mind drifting beyond my control and purposely visualise a holiday abroad, a new boyfriend, more money, and it always worked!
But learning about SATs was the key which helped me break through specific limiting beliefs that I found hard to conquer.
By vividly imagining myself achieving my goals just before sleep, I began to see real-life shifts over time.
To try SATs:
Find a comfortable position: This technique is done lying down, preferably just before bed.
Visualise your end goal: See yourself living the life you desire. Feel it. Engage all your senses.
Fall asleep with the vision in mind: Allow yourself to drift into sleep while immersed in the vision, so your subconscious continues to work on it overnight.
Repetition is Key
And just like learning to ride a bike, a new language or the alphabet when you were a child, to see the benefits of this, repetition is key.
I have manifested text messages from specific people doing these steps, more money, career opportunities and much more, sometimes it was literally overnight and at other times it took days, weeks, months and even a year.
Listen to the sleep affirmations every night if you can, practice outcome visualisations every day, even if you’re standing in a queue, waiting for a bus, at every moment available practice practice practice, throughout your day.
Whether it’s sleep affirmations, visualisation, or any other technique, consistency is what creates lasting change.
When I first started reprogramming my mind, I would go through phases of intense focus, only to fall off the wagon.
The real transformation came when I committed to the version of myself I wanted to be by repeating my new mindset practices every single day, even when I didn’t feel like it.
Repetition is the language of the subconscious mind, so make it a daily habit.
Finally…
Reprogramming your subconscious mind for success isn’t always an overnight success, but it’s a guaranteed way to rewire your thinking and attract better opportunities
These techniques have played a huge part in my glow up journey and I’m sure they will in yours too.
