24. The 48-Hour Reset for When You Feel Unmotivated

A question I hear often tends to run along the lines of:

  • How do you stay so motivated?

  • How do you complete that many tasks in a day?

  • How do you remain so disciplined?

And yes, I am very disciplined and organised, but I wasn’t always this way.

Believe me, even the most disciplined women have days (or weeks) where nothing can take them over the finish line.

That’s where my 48-hour reset comes in. A push which allows you to reclaim your motivation even if you’re starting at 1%.

Feeling unmotivated can cause major interruptions in life.

And if you don’t move on your ideas, the world won’t wait for you.

Have you ever noticed that an idea will pop into your mind, spark an emotion, you get excited about it, but instead of acting on it, you hesitate?

Days pass. Weeks. Month. Even years, and suddenly, someone else online is doing exactly what you envisioned, and you’re left wondering, “That was supposed to be me?”.

Ideas are energy, and if you don’t use them, they will find someone else who will.

So when you feel unmotivated, understand this: It’s not just about getting back into the flow, or even on track again, it’s about not missing out on the life that could have been yours if you had just started again.

Okay, let’s get into the reset.

Phase 1 - The Reality Check (Hour 0-2)

The first step is honesty. Get really honest with yourself and have a moment of truth

Ask yourself:

  • What am I really avoiding?

  • What story have I been repeating about why I can’t move forward?

  • What would it look like if I just did the thing messy, half-ready, and imperfect?

Recognise the loop. Look for the pattern. Most people don’t need motivation, they need clarity. Strip it down. What’s the next thing? Not the final thing. Just the next.

Phase 2: Reset Your Environment (Hour 2–8)

You reset your energy by resetting your space. Frequent updating is what helps me keep going. I’m always editing my wardrobe, my makeup, my who I’m following on social media

  • Declutter your desk, vanity, and digital life.

  • Change your sheets. Clean your kitchen. Light a candle.

  • Play music that makes you feel alive. Not sad. Not “vibey.” Alive.

Why is this so important? Because when you move your physical world, your mental world follows. Clarity loves space. And momentum begins with action, even if that action is folding laundry. There is power in reclaiming control.

Phase 3: Move Your Body (Hour 8–12)

The older I get, the more I realise the need for movement, and not necessarily to burn calories or achieve definition in your abs.

But because circulation is power. Your energy needs somewhere to go.

Demotivation breeds stillness, and stillness keeps you stuck in your head.

Get back in your body.

  • Go on a power walk, try with no phone, that’s when the best ideas come to you.

  • Workout while listening to a podcast or playlist that reminds you who you are.

  • Put some music on and allow yourself to sing and dance out loud without judgment from yourself

Yes, stillness is a must, but in many cases and particularly when solving your life. You are meant to move through it.

Phase 4: Get One Win (Hour 12–24)

I will say this until I’m blue in the face (and I’m black).

You don’t wait to feel ready, you create proof.

Ready never comes, so start now. One action. One win. One task that reminds you: I still got it.

This might look like:

  • Sending that pitch email.

  • Starting the intro to your idea.

  • Signing up for a subscription, course, or membership program

  • Pressing publish on a post you’ve been keeping in the drafts.

  • Organising your notes for something you keep saying you want to build.

The key is to act before the perfect plan. Let it be raw. Let it be messy. Perfectionism is often just procrastination in disguise.

Phase 5: Reconnect to Vision (Hour 24–36)

Demotivation often comes when your vision gets blurry. You forget what you're building and why it matters.

Take time to reconnect.

  • Reread your favourite articles in The Library.

  • Create a new vision board if the old one feels dull.

  • Record a voice note describing your dream life as if it's already real.

Ask yourself:

  • If I could feel anything right now, what would I choose?

  • Who is the version of me that already lives the life I want?

  • What does she not waste time on?

Your answers are your roadmap.

Phase 6: 90 Minutes of Focused Action (Hours 36–48)

Now you’re on a home run!

You’ve realigned, cleaned house, moved energy, and now it’s time to execute.

Set a timer. 90 minutes. No distractions. Just pure action. Work on the thing you’ve been avoiding. Launch the damn draft. Fix the budget. Schedule the gym. Rewrite the offer.

Create the new habit stack.

I promise, you don’t need 30 days. You need 90 minutes of focused belief.
Forget about doing everything. Instead, do something with intensity and trust.

Finally…

Demotivation isn’t your downfall. Look at it as your wake-up call. You don’t need to be inspired. You need to decide.

And you’re only ever one decision away from being back in motion. So take the next 48 hours and reset like the woman who’s not waiting anymore.

Questions to Ask Yourself

  • What belief is keeping me stuck right now, and is it even true?

  • What version of me am I feeding with this pattern of inaction?

  • If I moved boldly for the next 48 hours, what could actually change?

  • What would I do today if I fully trusted that I was built for this?

  • Who am I when I’m not negotiating with fear?
