How Mirror Work Can 10x Your Confidence

I believe the first time I was introduced to mirror work was through the book You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay. Not the most comfortable technique to overcome our inner obstacles but definitely a powerful one. So, what is it? Mirror work is a powerful technique that allows you to dive deep within, confront your fears, and transform your life. When you connect with your reflection, you can gain a deeper understanding of yourself, build self-acceptance, and start to create a positive self image. In this blog, we will explore why mirror work is so powerful and provide step-by-step instructions on how you can incorporate it into your daily routine, you’ll even see it pop up on the Glow Up Formula.

Why Mirror Work is So Powerful

  1. Self-Reflection:

Mirror work provides a unique opportunity for self-reflection. When you are confronted with your own image, you give yourself an opportunity to observe your thoughts, emotions, and beliefs. This self-reflection helps you gain insights into your inner world and identify areas for personal growth.

  2. Self-Acceptance:

This technique also promotes self-acceptance by encouraging you to embrace your flaws and imperfections. As you gaze into the mirror, you learn to love and accept yourself unconditionally, fostering a sense of self-worth and inner peace.

  3. Building Self-Confidence:

Regular mirror work can boost your self-confidence. By affirming positive statements while looking into the mirror, you reinforce a positive self-image and develop a strong sense of self-belief. This is a great time to do some EFT tapping at the same time, that way you’re able to do two things to super charge your self-esteem all at once.

  4. Challenge and Identify Negative Self-Talk:

Mirror work allows you to challenge and identify negative self-talk and replace it with positive affirmations. Through this practice, you can discover where you may have some blockages and begin to rewire your subconscious mind and cultivate a more empowering mindset.

How to Do Mirror Work

  1. Find a mirror: It doesn’t matter which one, just as long as you can clearly see yourself. Most people will tell you to find a quiet space, but I don’t feel it’s the most important aspect and it definitely doesn’t need to be quiet, you could have your favourite song playing in the background just ensure that you have a mirror in front of you.

  2. Set an intention: Before you begin, set an intention for your mirror work practice. It could be self-acceptance, self-love, a wealth mindset etc.

  3. Look into your eyes: Gaze into your own eyes in the mirror. Maintain eye contact and observe your thoughts and emotions without judgment. It might feel uncomfortable at first but just stick with it for as long as you can.

  4. Affirm positive statements: Speak out positive affirmations about yourself while looking into the mirror. Examples include "I am worthy," "I am enough," and "Money comes to me easily and effortlessly"

  5. Express gratitude: Take a moment to express gratitude for yourself and recognise the changes you have made in your growth.

  6. Reflect on your experience: After the session, reflect on your experience. Note any insights, emotions, or shifts in perception that occurred during the practice.

Remember, mirror work is a personal and transformative practice. Be patient with yourself and approach it with an open heart and mind. With consistency and dedication, mirror work can become a powerful tool for self-growth and self-empowerment.
